The trip to Malaysia staring..

Wilson

WenHao

Basil

Yeah..it was just the 3 of us. Called numerous amount of friends but all turned us down sadly. Nevermind, we still kick ass our way through Malaysia.
Started our tripped out to Malaysia at 20th March 2009 12.10am
After crossing the causeway, we decided to go grab some food first before making our way to the place where we would lodge. While having our supper, we notice some Malaysians were "clubbing". The beat was on, in the very much high class kopitiam settings with the old school DJ Jukebox playing the music. Pretty interesting sight to see that really happening coffeeshop spicing up the night of Johor.

The Journey From Johor Bahru to Ulu Tiram

And so we made our way from Johor Bahru all the way down to K. Ulu Tiram where we stayed there. We arrive there at about 3.10am. Wanted to make contact with our parents, but all hell break loose when we realised that all our phones do not have roaming. So at that late hour, we decided to take the risk of being robbed, murdered, or raped and walk the dark streets of Malaysia in desperation to find a phone that can contact Singapore. We gave up finding, and decided to get back to sleep and by that time it was 5 am already.

The Journey from Ulu Tiram to Sedili Besar.

We got up early that morning and left the place for brunch and had chicken rice that tasted like heaven. Then bought some bait that smelled like dead corpse. After that, we made our damn long journey down to Kg. Sedili Besar for fishing. Down there, it was really the rural area of Malaysia where it was still at its kampong settings. It was very interesting, cause as we left the cab and saw it drove away from us, we started to wonder on how were we going to get the cab back to Ulu Tiram after we're done fishing.

The Chicken Rice Store that led us to Earthly Heaven

Wen Hao sipping his hot cup of coffee before we left for Sedili Besar

Kg. Sedili Besar. They having this mini Pasar Malan

It was our first daytime fishing expedition, we usually have it at night. So yeah, you can expect some bloopers that happen. Well, our most interest case came from WenHao where he actually casted his line onto the ship instead of the sea. If only I had took a picture of his face that time, it was the classic Kodak moment, but i shan't get into it.

The left most boat is the boat that Wenhao casted his line onto.

By the later afternoon, most of us were dying already by then. Although it was pretty cloudy, the heat still got us and we were dying. And just next to us from where we were fishing were the villager's kids jumping into the river playing. Gosh, you do not know how tempted i was to join them, however, just the sight of the river totally change my mind as the shores of it were filled with mud skippers basking under the baking sun. Finally, we could not take it no more, by evening of that day, we made our way back to Ulu Tiram and have a good rest.

Biggest catch by Wenhao.

A picture of me with in the cab on our way back to Ulu Tiram

By next day, Wilson fell really sick, and wenhao received a new divine singlet from God for catching the biggest catch. We were suppose to fish but due to the 2 casualties leaving only the last masketeer standing, it was called off and we decided to go back earlier.

Yup!! That's all!
Btw, that is my first time going out of the country without any guardian. So yeah, congrats to me man. Ha! Night!

Back to the topic of china.
It has already been 2 months since we last came back from china, but everything that happens there still seems so vivid in my mind. Despite the chilling days where we were holding each others hand shivering, the warmness of each other companionship kept us strong and help us pulled through the coldest nights together.

The view from our hostel.

To those readers who don't know about this, we actually had a curfew to go back to our hostel by 10.30pm. Damn sad right? yeah. i was pretty sad about it. But there was a motivation. You see that little yellow roof store there? That was my motivation to go back early. They sell pipping hot "hand graping biscuits". No kidding man that is the name in direct translation *i think*. And in that freezing weather like that, anything hot taste awesome.

Mr Charlie Ng(Our lecturer in charge)

Mr Charlie Ng!! One of the most, or probably the MOST awesome lecturers around and i bet anyone who knows him will totally agree in that statement I made. He did an excellent job taking care of all us. Haha. The background is classroom where we would be doing our IB project. But really, everyone there is either busy with facebook or blogging, barely anyone is busy with their IB, especially my group. That is also where we did our rehearsal for our Christmas eve performance.
Grace and I in "Jing Mao" university and
I've no idea what we both are doing.

One of the most unforgetable thing in China is the buddy blunders we had from our main school. How much truoble we receive from all the rubbish and misunderstanding from both parties. Well, luckily for us, we still had "jing mao" uni buddies to compensate all that.

Me, Cherry(My JingMao buddy), and Kexin

Everyone is allocated to different buddies and fortunately for Kexin and I, We've got CHERRY!! She is great. She is like a walking document of Chinese history text and anything we need to know about Suzhou. I meant for real, kexin can testify that for me.

Me and Cherry and a kiss from her >.<

Yup!! We celebrated our Christmas with them. It was my first Chirstmas without my parents, and first christmas without my church friends. My buddy was really proud of me and thought that i deserve a kiss for that. And so i got so tense up cuz that would make my first kiss from a foreigner. Haha. Just kidding la. We were just posing for the picture actually.

Front: Niger, Dinah, and eve.
Behind: Cai Feng, Myself and Grace.

And this would be the night that all of us should be proud off. Our performance night during Christmas eve to the Chinese people. We sang 3 songs, Chan mali chan, All i want for Christmas, and Peng you! Haha. "And i...Woo woo woo..." Awesomee....hahaha.

Our steamboat dinner with the Jing Mao

Although I do not really like speaking chinese and everything, there is one thing i enjoy most about the chinese and that is their food! Yeah i know you're gonna say i like to eat everything. But really!! I really love the chinese food more than anything else. I can't have my dinner without rice!

Me and my chopstick in my mouth

Yup!! Look at all the persperation all over my face despite the cold weather? I was working hard eating man!! I'm a true glutton in China.

Me and one of the China buddies

The Jing Mao buddies really took up alot of effort to meet our needs and help us through in China, they definitely brought plenty of joy and taught us much of their culture. They also taught us how to scold vulgarities in their Suzhou language. Unlike in Singapore, if ever we do scold a vulgarity, we scold it directly to the person who we are scolding. But in Suzhou, their majority of their vulgarities targets to scold the mother of the subject instead of the person himself. Fierce eh?

Minghao, Weiling, Dinah, Myself, Eve and Grace @ Shanghai!!
Nigel was the cameramen so he wasn't in the pic.

The most money spend during this trip was when we made it to Shanghai. Shanghai was just too awesome to be true. We just keep shopping and shopping and shopping like as if our money grows on tree. Things there were cheap, and non of us could resist the temptation of not buying a thing there.

This time Nigel comes into the pic and eve do the honor of taking the shot

Although prices there are like fragrant flowers attracting bees, stalkers were hiding in many corners of the shopping department like preying mantis. The stalkers are so damn annoying. I don't wish to discribe them man but i still will. They were like pesky flies that just seems to not go away despite how hard you try dodging away from them.

Weiling, Myself, Grace and Eve below

Oh Oh oh..not forgetting the beggars we saw in Shanghai. We were astounded when we saw one of the beggars taking the train in the same train as us, from Shanghai to Suzhou. We saw a mother with a kid with dirt on the face practicing aggressive begging(e.i. to go walk straight to the "victim" and ask for cash) in one of the underpass in Shanghai. The next thing when we took the train from Shanghai back to Suzhou, we saw the mother and the kid in the train again, this time, they were all clean.

Grace, myself and I in the train

Grace and Eve are both really great people. Without them, I'm probably gonna die in China. They are like super street smart, they are always covering my ass although the fact is that i'm the guy and i should be the one covering their asses. I still remember the night where we were suppose to go for some water fountain performance. On our way there, We were harass by this little girl who insist on us buying a stalk of rose from her. She particularly attacked me cuz i was the guy among the 2 girls. She wanted me to buy the roses for them. Honestly, I would have bought from her the roses as i thought it would be really nice of me to give them roses for being such great friends. But i just can't as there would be consequences. Buying from that little girl would attact even more of those little girls that will force you to be their roses, which is something I don't want.

Grace, Eve and I waiting for the train in Suzhou

Well, about that little girl who harass me to buy roses for the ladies, i rejected her offer and didn't wanna buy. But she wasn't any ordinary pesky little girl that tries to get force a customer in buying her roses. She was a dead persistent one. She pulled my overcoat and refused to let go of me. I was stunned and didn't know how to reject her. Luckily for me, I've got 2 very beautiful street geniuses with me. They scolded the little girl, something that i'm really not good at. Haha, i shan't get to details on how they scolded the little girls especially for Grace if not I might just embarass her. haha.

Fireworks on New Year's day

I have a declaration to make!! I've finally played with fireworks after dunno how many years of my life. Woot!!! And guess where we had our fireworks at? It was held in school for nuts!! Imagine the day Singapore will allow their students to play fireworks in their school field. Haha. i think that day will never come man.

One of the more majestic fireworks that we had

Haha. Here is to get you guys even more jealous if you guys didn't had the chance to play with fireworks, I had the chance to hold a roll of fire crackers with a long pole. Here is a short video on it.

It was great fun holding the fire cracker!! But it was also great pain holding it too. I didn't get burn so dun worry. Haha. The pain came from the loud bang each firecracker made to my ear. Also, during the explosion of the fire cracker, small little particles will hit hard on my legs.

And lastly about the China trip, here is something i wanna share with you, something that you'll hardly experience in Singapore. Check this video out of grace and i in the toot toot.

Okay, nevermind about the retard comments the both of us made. just watch the video. haha. Shocking uh? I was really excited when i realize i was going against the traffic like that man.

Moving on..My birthday.
Yup! 09/02/89.
Had 3 groups of friends that celebrated my birthday with me this year. My classmates, my cell group and my church mates! Well, i've gotta say special thanks to my church mates cuz they put in special effort in it. Especially to Ching ee. Ching!!
